Install a Skill Suite, invoke its skills, and review the output. The full workflow, demonstrated with the Legal suite.
Skill Suites work in Ask Plaud's Work mode, which uses Plaud Credits.
This walkthrough applies to every official suite: Legal Assistant, Consultant, Real Estate Assistant, and Medical Scribe. Install, invoke, and review work the same everywhere; we use Legal Assistant as the running example because its skills also build on each other, which shows the full depth of what a suite can do.
What is a Skill Suite?
A Skill Suite is a set of skills built by Plaud for one professional field, installed and updated as a bundle. Instead of one generic summarizer, each skill produces a specific piece of work product from your transcripts. The Legal Assistant suite, our example, ships skills built around a per-matter record (intake, brief, action tracking, memos, and letters), and its matter-level skills keep a running picture of each matter across calls.
Step 1: Install a suite
- Open Tools → Skills. Skill suites appear in the Skill suites section at the top.
- Open a suite (here, Legal Assistant) to review the skills inside, each with a full description of what it does, then save it to your account (Save in the Plaud App; Add skill on the suite page on Plaud Web). The suite lands in your Skill list under Skill suites.
Step 2: Know what's inside the Legal Assistant suite
A few examples of the skills inside:
-
Matter Intake (
matter-intake): fold one encounter into the matter substrate, reconciled across calls. -
Matter Brief (
matter-brief): distil a matter's state into a fixed-shape pre-encounter brief for re-entry. -
Action Items (
action-items): project commitments owed (from one transcript or a whole matter) into an owner / due / status checklist, never inventing procedure. -
Client Update Letter (
client-update-letter): a client-facing recap letter: what was discussed, the advice, next steps and deadlines.
Suites evolve; the suite's page in Tools is always the authoritative list of what's inside.
Step 3: Invoke a skill
This works the same in every suite: type / in a Work conversation and pick the skill, with the relevant transcript or folder as context. See Choose the right context for an Agent task.
Where Legal Assistant goes further: its skills build on each other, so sequence matters. Start each new matter with Matter Intake so the matter-level skills have a record to draw on; run Matter Brief before your next call on that matter. In suites whose skills work independently (Medical Scribe, for example), just pick the skill that matches the document you need.
Step 4: Review the output
Every suite's outputs mark what needs review: [pending] for unfinished items, [model knowledge, verify] for claims that come from the model rather than your materials, and timestamped transcript references throughout. The skills pause to ask confirmation questions by design. Every output is a draft for a professional to review: not a final document, and not professional advice.
FAQ about Skill Suites
Do I need to work in the field to use a suite?
No, but suite outputs are framed as professional work product for professional review; for everyday meeting notes, a summary template is the better tool.
Can I edit the skills inside the suite?
No. Skills that come inside a suite are read-only and can't be edited or removed individually; remove the whole suite if you no longer need it.
Do suites work the same on Plaud Web and Plaud Desktop?
Yes. Suites belong to your account, and every step above works the same on all platforms.
