Reset your authenticator on Plaud Web when you switch phones. Your two-step verification codes follow you to the new device.
Before you start
- Each account holds one authenticator binding. Resetting invalidates the old key immediately.
- Resetting also regenerates your backup codes: all previous codes stop working, so be ready to save the new set.
- You'll need to verify your identity with your current primary method, a backup code, or the email verification code if enabled.
How to reset the authenticator?
- On the Web, click your workspace name in the top-left corner and go to Settings → Account & security → Two-step verification.
- Click Reset next to Authenticator app. You'll go straight to identity verification. There's no extra confirmation step.
- Verify your identity.
- Scan the new QR code with the authenticator app on your new phone, or click Copy setup key instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the new device to confirm.
- Save the new backup codes Plaud generates. Your previous codes no longer work.
If you no longer have the old phone and no backup method, click Get help verifying on the verification screen. See Can't complete two-step verification on Plaud Web for details.
