You can change your Plaud plan at any time. How an upgrade or downgrade takes effect depends on your current plan and the platform where you subscribed.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Mobile App? See Upgrade and downgrade rules.
What is the membership priority order?
Unlimited annually > Unlimited monthly > Annual Unlimited activation code > Pro annually > Pro monthly > Annual Pro Plan activation code > Starter.
How do upgrades and downgrades work?
-
Upgrade
When you upgrade from a lower-tier to a higher-tier membership, for example, from annual Pro Plan to annual Unlimited Plan, the higher-tier membership takes effect immediately for iOS, Android, and Plaud Web subscriptions. What happens to your original plan depends on where you subscribed:
| iOS | The remaining days of your previous plan are automatically prorated and refunded. To learn when you'll receive the refund, see Apple Support: refund timing. |
| Android | The remaining days of your previous plan are automatically prorated and added to the higher-tier membership. Google Play handles the calculation. |
| Plaud Web | The remaining days of your current plan are prorated and applied to your new payment. |
| Official website (Appstle) | Upgrades and downgrades aren't currently supported. To change your plan, email support@plaud.ai to request a refund and repurchase, or subscribe to your new plan after your current plan expires. For details, see How can I change my membership plan if I purchased it on the official website? |
| Official website (Stripe) | Upgrades and downgrades aren't currently supported. To change your plan, email support@plaud.ai to request a refund and repurchase, or subscribe to your new plan after your current plan expires. |

Downgrade
When you downgrade from a higher-tier membership to a lower-tier one, the lower-tier membership takes effect after the higher-tier membership expires. For memberships purchased on the official Plaud website, see the table above.
Note: You can only switch subscriptions within the same platform. For example, an iOS subscription can only be changed in iOS. The same applies to Android and Plaud Web. To move your subscription to a different platform, cancel it on the original platform first. See Cancel your subscriptions and refunds.
Upgrading to a higher plan also gives you more Plaud Credits. See Does upgrading change my subscription?
Do I need to pay the full price when I upgrade?
It depends on the platform where you subscribed:
- iOS: Yes. You pay the new plan's full price, and Apple automatically prorates and refunds the unused days of your previous plan.
- Android: Yes. You pay the new plan's full price, and the remaining value of your previous plan becomes extra membership time on the new plan.
- Plaud Web: No. The unused days of your current plan are credited toward your new payment, so you only pay the difference.
- Official website (Appstle or Stripe): Plan changes aren't currently supported. Email support@plaud.ai to request a refund and repurchase, or subscribe to your new plan after your current plan expires.

How does an activation code work with my plan?
When you redeem a membership activation code, the benefits are added to your account right away and take effect according to these rules:
- Starter Plan users: the membership takes effect immediately, with the priority order Unlimited Plan > Pro Plan.
- Pro Plan subscribers: a Pro Plan code takes effect after your current Pro Plan expires. An Unlimited Plan code upgrades you to the Unlimited Plan immediately, and your Pro Plan resumes after the Unlimited Plan expires.
- Unlimited Plan subscribers: a Pro Plan or Unlimited Plan code takes effect after your current Unlimited Plan expires.
