Transcription minutes cover audio transcription in Plaud. Your plan includes a monthly allowance, and you can buy a minutes pack whenever you need more.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Mobile App? See Transcription minutes.
What uses transcription minutes?
Minutes are used when Plaud transcribes a recording for the first time, including speaker labels and the default AI summary that comes with it. Re-transcribing, the built-in Re-summarize, and generating a summary with a template don't use minutes. Transcription minutes are separate from Plaud Credits, which are used only in Work mode in Ask Plaud.
How many minutes does my plan include?
- Starter: 300 minutes per month, available after you bind a Plaud device.
- Pro: 1,200 minutes per month.
- Unlimited: unlimited transcription.
Paid plan minutes replace the Starter allowance instead of adding to it. Your monthly minutes reset on a set date each month, and unused monthly minutes don't roll over.
Where can I check my minutes balance and usage?
- Plaud Mobile App: open the side menu and tap your profile at the top. Your remaining minutes show at the top of your membership page. Tap More details to open Current plan.
- Plaud Web: your remaining minutes show at the bottom of the left sidebar. Click your plan to open Membership Center, then click Details next to Minutes balance to open Minutes details. For more about Membership Center, see Where can I find the details of my membership? — for v4.0.x or later.
Both pages show your minutes left, your monthly allowance, your next reset date, and a usage history. Each entry in the usage history lists the date, time, and audio duration of a transcription. An entry marked Free means no recognizable speech was found in that recording, so no minutes were used.
How do I buy more minutes?
-
Plaud Mobile App: on your membership page, under Add-ons, tap Buy more minutes, then choose a package. Packages come in 120, 600, 3,000, and 6,000 minutes, and are added to your account right away.
- Plaud Web: on the Minutes details page, click Buy a minutes pack, then choose a package.
- Plaud official website: buy an Add-On Extension package of 600, 3,000, or 6,000 minutes on plaud.ai. You must activate it within 12 months of purchase.
Extra Minutes are valid for 24 months from the date of activation, and they keep working even after an Unlimited plan ends.
What happens if I run out of minutes?
You can keep recording, transferring, and importing audio. To transcribe new recordings, wait for your next reset, buy a minutes pack, or upgrade your plan. See Upgrade and downgrade rules — for v4.0.x or later.
