Plaud One earbuds connected but won't start a recording or play and pause audio? This article walks through five checks, easiest first. The most common cause is starting an earbud recording when no audio is playing.
Steps
-
Check that the earbuds play audio from your phone
Play music or make a call and confirm you hear it through the earbuds. If you don't, see Plaud One earbuds won't connect to the phone or app first.
-
Update the Plaud Mobile App and firmware
Install the latest version of the Plaud Mobile App, then install any available firmware update.
-
Start audio first, then start the earbud recording
The earbuds record calls and audio playing through them, so press and hold on the earbud stem only starts a recording while audio is already playing through the earbuds. With no audio playing, press and hold doesn't respond. Start your call or audio first, then press and hold to record. To record the room around you, use the recording button on the charging case instead.
-
Check your touch control settings
By factory default, press and hold on an earbud stem starts or stops an earbud recording. If this gesture was reassigned in the Plaud Mobile App, press and hold does something else. Check or reset your gestures in the Plaud Mobile App. See Touch controls on Plaud One.
-
Restart the earbuds
Place both earbuds in the case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds before opening it again.
To check whether an earbud responds at all, press its control: a working earbud plays a prompt tone. If there's no tone, see Plaud One not responding or won't power on.
If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- Which earbud doesn't respond: the left, the right, or both
- Whether you hear a prompt tone when you press the earbud
- Whether audio was playing when you tried to start the recording
- A screenshot of any error message
- Your Plaud Mobile App log (tap the menu icon > Help Center > Diagnostics > Share log; see Export a log file in the Plaud Mobile App)
- Your device S/N (on the bottom of the charging case)
