What is the meeting info header?
Each file in the new Plaud App opens with a header showing three things: when the meeting happened, which event or folder it belongs to, and who spoke. Speakers come from Speaker Labels, and when a calendar event is linked, its attendees are offered as name options when you name speakers. You choose which attendee is which speaker; Plaud doesn't automatically match attendees to speakers.
How to name a speaker?
- Open a file and tap the Speakers chip in the header. The Name speakers pop-up lists every speaker with their total speaking time and playable transcript snippets.
- Type each speaker's name in their field. Play the snippets to check who's who. When a calendar event is linked, you can also pick from the participants list.
- Tap Confirm to save your changes for all listed speakers. Renaming or merging a speaker updates the name in the summary as well. Names you add apply to this recording only.
You can also open the same pop-up from the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner > Name speakers.
When you choose an attendee for a speaker, the email comes from the linked calendar event and can't be typed in manually.
FAQ about meeting info
Why is a speaker unnamed?
Plaud automatically recognizes only your own voice, if you've added your voice profile. Other speakers appear as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. Use the naming pop-up to assign names.
What's the difference between speakers and attendees?
Speakers are the people who talked in the recording. Attendees come from the linked calendar event and appear in the event card, even if they didn't speak.
