Transcription turns recordings into searchable text in 112+ languages.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Transcription.
How transcription works
Files are transcribed automatically after upload, in the language spoken. See Automatic transcription and summaries on Plaud Web. To summarize a file with a different template, see Summary templates on Plaud Web. Transcription doesn't translate. Every transcript includes Original text; a Cleaned-up text version is also generated when Clean up transcript automatically is on. It's on by default. Switch versions with the dropdown at the top right of the transcript at no cost. To transcribe again in a different language, see Re-transcribe on Plaud Web.
How to transcribe manually?
- Open the file. If it hasn't been transcribed yet, the page shows Ready to generate. Click Generate.
- In the Generating setting dialog, keep Audio language on Auto or set the language manually, adjust Label my voice automatically, Summary template, Summary language, and AI model if needed, then click Generate now. Click Summary template to choose a different template. (Your defaults live in Settings → Preferences.)
