Every recording is transcribed and summarized automatically on Plaud Web. The titled transcript and summary are ready when you open the file.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Auto generation and custom generation.
What happens when a file arrives?
When a recording syncs or a file finishes uploading, transcription runs automatically. There's no switch for it. The summary step is controlled by the Auto-summarize new recordings toggle, which is on by default. The earlier concept of per-rule AutoFlow triggers has been retired; for trigger-based automation, use Routines, which run in Work mode, instead.
What gets generated
- A transcript with Speaker Labels in Original text, plus a Cleaned-up text version when Clean up transcript automatically is on (this feature is turned on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings > Preferences > Transcription & Summary).
- A structured summary with a cover page and source-tracing markers.
- A title generated from the transcript and your linked calendar event.
FAQ about automatic generation
Does automatic generation consume transcription minutes?
Yes, the same as manual generation. It does not consume Plaud Credits: only tasks in Work mode, like generating Artifacts, running Routines, and using Connectors, do. Re-summarizing with a template doesn't. See What are Plaud Credits?.
