Ask Plaud runs fully in your browser. Use Chat for quick answers about your recordings, or Work to have Plaud Agent draft, analyze, and deliver finished documents.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Ask Based on a Single File (Ask Plaud) or Ask Across All Files (Ask Plaud).
What can Ask Plaud do on the Web?
Ask Plaud has two modes on Plaud Web:
- Chat: ask questions about your recordings, search the web, or check your connected Google Calendar. Chat doesn't use Plaud Credits.
- Work: Plaud Agent takes on tasks. Use one file, several files, or a folder as context, run several tasks in parallel, and track them in the task panel. Work uses Plaud Credits.
Click Ask Plaud in the side navigation to open it. It gathers New chat, Tasks, Routines, and your recent conversations (Recents) in one place. Your Skills live under Tools → Skills (see Skills on Plaud Web).
How to start?
- Click Ask Plaud in the side navigation.
- Choose Chat or Work at the bottom right of the input box, next to the send button. Your first conversation starts in Chat; after that, Plaud Web remembers the mode you used last.
- Describe what you want in the input box, and attach files or a folder as context. Suggested starters appear below the box and change with the mode.
- In Work mode, review the delivered Artifact in the canvas, and ask for revisions in the chat.
When do I need Work mode?
Use Work mode to create or edit files, use Skills, set up Routines or scheduled tasks, or take action in your connected tools beyond checking your Google Calendar. If you ask for one of these in Chat, Plaud tells you, and you can start a new conversation in Work mode.
FAQ about Ask Plaud on the Web
Is Ask Plaud on the Web different from the Mobile App?
The capabilities are the same. Some management flows, such as creating Skills, work especially smoothly on the larger screen.
Can I switch between Chat and Work in the same conversation?
No. The mode is set when you send the first message. To switch, start a new conversation and choose the other mode.
Does using Ask Plaud cost anything?
Chat mode doesn't use Plaud Credits. Recording, transcription, default auto-summaries, and generating a summary with a template don't use Plaud Credits either. In Work mode, generating Artifacts, running Skills and Routines, and using Connectors use Plaud Credits. A one-time gifted Plaud Credits grant covers this for every plan (Unlimited: 6,000 · Pro: 2,400 · Starter: 600, valid 3 months). Your subscription and transcription minutes are unchanged.
