A Skill captures how you want a task done. Plaud Agent delivers the same structure and quality every time.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Skills.
Skills run in Ask Plaud's Work mode, which uses Plaud Credits.

What is a Skill?
A Skill is a saved instruction set for Plaud Agent: what to extract, how to structure it, and what format to deliver. Instead of re-explaining your requirements each time, select the Skill and Plaud Agent follows it. You can keep up to 100 Skills, and they sync across your devices.
How to create a Skill?
Go to Tools → Skills, click + Add skill, and choose one of two ways:
- Create with AI: opens a Work conversation with /Skill Creator. Describe what you want, and Plaud Agent drafts the Skill for you.
- Import skill: add a Skill you already have.
However you start, review the draft: when the Skill applies and what it does. Drafts stay in the session until you save them. Saved Skills appear under Tools → Skills → My skills.
How to use a Skill?
-
Pick it when starting a task: in a Work conversation, type / in the input box (or click the Skills icon below it) and choose the Skill from the list.
- Start from the Skill's page: open the Skill under Tools → Skills and click Use in chat.
- Let Plaud Agent decide: in Work mode, Plaud Agent invokes matching Skills automatically based on your request.
The My skills section under Tools → Skills lists your own Skills, your Skill suites, and the Skills you installed. Explore more skills in the Skills menu of the input box takes you to the community. You can edit your own Skills anytime; installed Skills from the community are read-only. For what the built-in official skills do, see Official skills: what ships with Plaud Agent and Flash Memo.
Sharing Skills
Publish your Skills to the community (click Publish on the Skill's page, or + Add skill → Publish skill) or install Skills others shared; installed copies are read-only, and updates are applied when you choose. See Skill community on Plaud Web.
FAQ about Skills
Can I use Skills in Chat mode?
No. Skills run only in Work mode. If you ask for a Skill in Chat, Plaud tells you, and you can start a new conversation in Work mode.
Can a Skill run automatically?
Yes. Combine a Skill with a Routine to run it on a trigger. See Routines on Plaud Web.
What's the difference between a Skill and a Skill suite?
A Skill is one reusable instruction set. A Skill suite is a bundled pack of Skills; the Skills inside a Skill suite can't be edited or removed individually, so uninstall the whole Skill suite if you no longer need it.
Do Skills sync between the App and the Web?
Yes. Skills belong to your account and sync across platforms.
What happens to my custom skills from before?
Custom skills you created in Ask Plaud carry over to your Skill list for your own use. They're marked as pending upgrade, and you can upgrade them in a conversation to enable automatic triggering.
