Plaud One earbuds won't connect to your phone or the Plaud Mobile App? This article walks through five fixes, easiest first. A low battery is a common cause, and most connection issues clear after a restart.
Before you start
Your earbuds use two separate connections, and either one can fail on its own:
- Earbuds to your phone: a direct Bluetooth connection for music and calls. If it fails, the earbuds don't show as connected in your phone's Bluetooth settings, and no audio plays through them.
- Earbuds to the Plaud Mobile App: the earbuds show up in the Mobile App through the charging case, for settings and battery status. If it fails, the earbuds may still play music, but don't appear in the Mobile App.
So the Mobile App can show both earbuds while they still can't play audio from your phone, and the other way around. If the charging case itself won't connect to the Mobile App, see Plaud One charging case won't connect to the app first.
Steps
-
Charge the earbuds in the case for 15 minutes
Put both earbuds in the charging case and connect the case to power for at least 15 minutes.
-
Check for a prompt tone
Press the control on each earbud. A working earbud plays a prompt tone, even when it isn't connected. If there's no tone, see Plaud One not responding or won't power on.
-
Update the Plaud Mobile App and firmware
Update the Plaud Mobile App to the latest version, then install any available firmware update. Keep the earbuds in the case during the update, as earbud firmware updates through the case.
-
Restart the earbuds
Place both earbuds in the case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds before opening it again.
-
Reconnect the earbuds to your phone
Place both earbuds in the case, then press and hold the pairing button inside the case for 2 seconds. Follow the prompts on your phone to reconnect. If your phone still lists an old Plaud One Earbuds record, choose Forget This Device in your phone's Bluetooth settings first.
If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- Whether the earbuds won't connect to your phone, to the Plaud Mobile App, or both
- Which side fails to connect: the left earbud, the right earbud, or both
- A screenshot of any error message, including messages shown during a firmware update
- Your phone model and OS version (for example, iPhone 17 Pro with iOS 26.1)
- Your Plaud Mobile App log (tap the menu icon > Help Center > Diagnostics > Share log; see Export a log file in the Plaud Mobile App)
- Your device S/N (on the bottom of the charging case)
