Plaud One AI assistant won't start, or doesn't speak its replies out loud? This article walks through six checks, easiest first. The AI assistant needs a 4G connection, so start there.
Steps
-
Update the Plaud Mobile App and firmware
Install the latest version of the Plaud Mobile App, then install any available firmware update.
-
Make sure the device is bound to your Plaud account
The AI assistant only works on a Plaud One bound to your Plaud account. Your phone doesn't need to be nearby or connected. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
-
Check that 4G shows as Connected
The case talks to the AI assistant over its own 4G connection, so the assistant can't start without it. In the Plaud Mobile App, check that 4G on your Plaud One shows as Connected. If it doesn't, see Plaud One can't connect to 4G.
-
Check Privacy lock
If the assistant answers in the Plaud Mobile App but not out loud, check Privacy lock. With Privacy lock on in Silent mode, the assistant never speaks on the case or earbuds. In Companion mode, it speaks only while Plaud One is connected to the Plaud Mobile App. See What is Privacy lock on Plaud One?.
-
Test the case speaker
With Privacy lock off and the earbuds not in your ears, press the Agent button on the case and ask a question. If the reply appears in the Plaud Mobile App but you hear nothing from the case, the speaker may be faulty. Contact our support team.
-
Charge and restart the case
Make sure the case has battery. Restarting clears the Bluetooth pairing of both the case and the earbuds.
- Place both earbuds in the case and unplug the charging cable.
- Press and hold the pairing button inside the case for 15 seconds.
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, choose Forget This Device for Plaud One Earbuds.
- Set up Plaud One again in the Plaud Mobile App, the same way you first bound it. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- A short video of the light bar when you press the Agent button
- Whether the issue happens once in a while, or every time since a certain point
- A screenshot of any error message
- Your Plaud Mobile App log (tap the menu icon > Help Center > Diagnostics > Share log; see Export a log file in the Plaud Mobile App — for v4.0.x or later)
- Your device S/N (on the bottom of the charging case)
